Made with the bald oranges left over from Mandira's neighbours Silent Pool Distillers who use the peel in their fabulous gin; this slightly bitter, spiced chutney is a firm favourite. Enjoy with cheese, poppadums, crackers, in bread and better pudding or just on its own!
In 2020 it was awarded two stars in the Great Taste awards – “An excellent example of using otherwise wasted ingredients to make a delicious new product. These oranges are full of bright citrus flavour paired with warm spices and the unmistakable botanical hit of gin. All three combined with a little sugar harmonise for a delicious experience that would be wonderful with cheeses or an Indian inspired dish. The spices are subtle and don’t give a ‘spicy’ heat, more of a gentle warmth, but overall this is very tasty and definitely unique.”
